before writing directly on a cake a typical method is to practice by first trying on the side of the spatula. you write and scrape the side, adding the buttercream back in to the bowl. sometimes it’s someones name, like a grade school delusional love, writing it over and over. i’ve never written “happy” so many times until making cakes. I would like to say it is working like some kind of power pose and the form of it is being translat into my body, but instead it mostly loses meaning.
